THE BATTLE
FOR BOND

In the end we didn’t really have any choice but to accede to the Fleming Will Trust’s wishes, and so, on the morning of the 6th March 2008 we arranged for several hundred copies of The Battle For Bond, all remaining UK stock, to be delivered to the London office of the Trust’s lawyers.

We’d always believed that the Fleming Will Trust’s actions were misdirected, since taking this stance would inevitably lead to bad publicity for them. Tomahawk Press tried to make them aware of this possibility on several occasions, particularly as 2008 is the centenary year of author Ian Fleming.

This action by the Fleming Will Trust is not going to stop us from telling the true story of the Fleming plagiarism trial and its not inconsiderable repercussions. There will be a second edition of The Battle For Bond, omitting this time all the material to which the Trust took exception. This second edition will be a more affordable version and will contain only a few of the many photographs used in the original, although we will be printing one or two never-before-seen new illustrations. We hope to have this edition of the book ready around June/July 2008.

The Fleming Will Trust may have succeeded in banning The Battle For Bond, but the book is awaiting resurrection with this new edition. The book, incidentally, would never have existed in the first place had it not been for Fleming’s own personal copyright infringement; an irony no doubt lost on those who were so determined to crush us.
